The second Sunday in May is the day set aside for honoring mothers the world over, and and Bahamians from all walks of life are gearing up to show their mothers, and the women in their lives who were like mothers to them, how much they appreciate them.

The Nassau Guardian took to the streets to find out what men think about their wives and how they are raising their children, in anticipation of Mother's Day on Sunday, May 11.

My wife is the best mother because ...

"My wife goes beyond. She does many of the things that I often can't because of my profession. When I come home the food is cooked, the children's homework is done and the house is clean. She is the best "bank manager" too because she deals with our expenses and savings. And she does all of this without complaining. We build the house but women paint the color. She really alleviates a lot of the family stress."

"My wife is a good woman and mother because of how she takes care of the children and myself."

"I love the way she handles everything. I love how she takes care of our child. I like how she handles our money and makes sure everything is straight. She's a good homemaker too. If she wasn't so good I might be out here throwing away my money and savings."

"My wife has good, Christian principles which she instills in the children. She's faithful, loving, caring and understanding toward the family. And she's a good listener."

"My wife is raising our three beautiful daughters to be lovely young ladies. And this Mother's Day I want to thank her for doing such a great job."
