Former prison inmate among eight to be ordained to ministry

Former prison inmate Joseph Rolle will be one of eight people ordained to ministry at New Covenant Baptist Church, Independence Drive, on Sunday, Apr. 27 during the 11: 00 a.m. worship service when the Senior Pastor, Bishop Simeon Hall will preach on the sermon: "What Do You Hear God Saying?"

Reverend Rolle who spent several years in prison was restored to ministry by the church upon his release.

Also being ordained are Revs. Sheila Tracey and Kelvin Briggs, Ministry of Tourism training officer, Rev. Valerie Carpenter; prison officer, Rev. James Farrington; seminary student, Rev. Albertha Williams; artist Rev. Tyrone Ferguson, food vendor, Rev. Diana Ranger and Rolle, a security officer.

The ministers, most of whom have given more than 20 years of service, are being commended for their work and ministry.

Hall says that the service is a first in a serious of services in which they will honor those who have labored in leadership.
